Make: AUSTIN Registration: FZ 2262 Year of Manufacture: 1938 Date First Registered: 09/07/1938 Current V5: NO Location: PICKERING You can view from: Wednesday 22 July 2026 - Tuesday 28 July 2026
NO V5 - NEW OWNER TO APPLY. Paperwork includes an Owner Handbook and a Service Manual.
The vendor has provided the model of the vehicle to be a 1938 Austin 8 Tourer. Please confirm upon your own inspection.
The vendor has provided the following:
This car was transported from Australia, where it was owned by a surgeon
It was then purchased by my brother, who restored it and gifted it to my father in 1992 for his 65th birthday
It was stored in a dry garage and taken to the odd show
After 5 or 6 years, ill health prohibited my father from using it very much, and he passed away in 2011
As his brother, I took responsibility for it at that point
It continued to be stored in a dry garage
It was driven very occasionally just to keep it turning over
The paintwork has a few small chips
It's 6V, has a new hood of about 3 years, and 4 new tyres
There is one stud missing on a wheel
Would perhaps need a service or engine rebuild
I have now been diagnosed with terminal cancer, so the car needs to go
