Current V5 present. No other paperwork.

The vendor has provided the model of the vehicle to be a 1934 Austin 7 Speedex Special, please confirm upon your own inspection.

The vendor has provided the following:

  • 1934 Austin 7 Speedex Special
  • Jem Marsh is, of course, the man behind that great British sports car, the Marcos
  • But during the late 1950’s, Jem used to race an Austin Seven special while working as a sales rep for Firestone Tyres
  • During the first few months of 1958, Jem was employed by Robin Read as manager of his Dante Engineering Company
  • This lasted until 30th April, when Jem told Robin that he intended to leave and start his own Company, Speedex
  • Change of ownership was done when I closed my business and put it into my name. I have owned the car since 2020
  • 216 XUC was first 01/01/1934, the V5 states first reg in the U.K. 01/02/2007. Perhaps she was repatriated to the U.K.? However, she still retains Historic Status and is both tax and MOT exempt
  • The upper body is aluminium with steel cycle-style mud guards
  • Under the bonnet, you can see she is fitted with the Speedex flat head, clearly stamped, and is all in nice, complete condition
  • She is also fitted with the Popular Morris hydraulic brake upgrade
  • She is a very pretty car and presents herself very well with a wonderful interior and polished alloy dash
  • 216XUC has spent the last 6 years on display in a small East Yorkshire museum!
  • It has been noted that the rear brake cylinders have lost fluid, so this will need to be addressed. Also, the engine turns over fine, but it currently will not start! Possibly just fuel and a little tinkering will get her running again
  • So, overall, a fabulous car for the Austin 7 enthusiast, won’t take much to put her back on the road
  • Hope all this info helps, and she finds a new happy owner
