The vendor has provided the following:

  • I have owned this car for just over a year, with very little use.
  • The following description is from the previous owner and is still relevant now:
  • 1972 MGB GT
  • Matching numbers
  • Classed as a historic vehicle, MOT & TAX exempt
  • ULEZ exempt
  • Classic recessed grill
  • Family ownership for 40+ years
  • This stunning MGB GT has been lovingly owned for over 40 years. It underwent a total refurbishment approximately 3 years ago
  • The refurb started with a bare metal respray and re-chromed trim
  • Most things mechanically have been replaced or reconditioned, new or reconditioned suspension all round and the braking/clutch hydraulic systems completely replaced, pipes, drums, disc pads, master and slave cylinders, Borg & Beck clutch. The engine gearbox and O/D have been reconditioned, and the fuel system renewed, tank, pump, pipes and twin HS4 carbs
  • It was decided to replace the cooling system and fit a new radiator, Revotec fan and Evan’s waterless cooling fluid. The heater matrix was replaced
  • A new S/S exhaust has been fitted. The front windscreen was replaced with a new one, also a new wiper motor, blades and screen wash pump fitted
  • The inside seats were recovered and new carpets installed, door cards, sun visors and seat belts put in
  • A roadworthy check at a local garage has been done, as the car is MOT exempt
  • The car has good, constant oil pressure, and is equipped with a reconditioned gearbox & overdrive
  • The car was driven to the auction

Welcome to our July Auction!

The viewing period for this auction is Wednesday 22 July 2026 - Tuesday 28 July 2026. 

Prospective buyers are encouraged to view specific lots pre-auction and inspect paperwork if available.

We have a free coach service running between Pickering, our showrooms and Thornton-le-Dale to help you access the site and reduce congestion. Please see the coach timetable here.

The entrance fee is £5 per person during the viewing periods at our Pickering branch. 
This forms part of our annual fundraising to help local and national charities chosen by us.
Please note that we cannot allow under 16s, pets or handbags in the showrooms for viewing.
 
PLEASE NOTE: Please be aware that all lots are sold as seen and without any warranty implied or given. You must satisfy yourself as to a lot's description and condition before you decide to bid. We recommend that you inspect the lot in person during the general viewing days held prior to the auction or call us to arrange for an individual appointment.
