The vendor has provided the following:
This was the description of the car when I bought it in July 2022. It has been in storage since then.
This time warp example was first registered on 12/11/1975 to a Mr Botting of Surrey by G.N. (Balham) Ltd of London, who kept the car until 1/8/1996, 21 years. It was then sold to a Mr McCarthy of Banstead, who
kept the car until 5/11/2021, 25 years, until its current owner acquired the car. It is finished in the very pleasing colour of Monaco White with Sporty Red Plaid cloth interior and benefits from very good chrome trim, including the original centre caps. The car is very impressive in its appearance and would grace any car collection.
When Vauxhall introduced the car, it was designed to compete with the Ford Capri and the Morris Marina and came with such “modern” equipment as 2-speed wipers, 2-speed heater, temperature gauge, great fuel economy of 39.1 mpg, servo-assisted braking system, rack and pinion steering and 4-speed synchromesh gearbox. As Vauxhall’s own press release stated “No other car offers you all this refinement, for so little”.
This really is one not to missed and with such a low number left on the road today, this must be one of the rarest cars on the market today. We are informed by the vendor that the car has had four new tyres, a new battery, new brake shoes and cylinders, new copper fuel and brake pipes, and comes with the original Viva instruction book and period advertising material. MOT’d until May 2023, it is all ready to go and enjoy.
