The vendor has provided the following:

The vendor of this 1989 Mercedes 500 SEL Auto is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:

We bought this SEL in October 2024 from Mathewsons.

Unfortunately, once B8 CHP was up on the ramp, it all became a little much for us. The main problem area we faced was the corrosion around the battery tray - this particular part was uneconomical to fabricate, and Mercedes no longer makes the part.

Due to our TV production schedule, we did not have the time to hunt for a donor part. So we are reluctantly selling it on again.

The vendor provided the following information at the time of our purchase of the vehicle:

  • Service history up to 138,662. 19 service stamps
  • All original handbooks are present, as well as service paperwork
  • Excellent cream leather interior, original rear foot stools
  • Electric front seats and headrests
  • Owned for the past 22 years

PLEASE NOTE: We are selling this car as we bought it, so no additional work has been undertaken, and we encourage any potential buyer to make their own checks.

The highest bid at the end of the auction will be submitted to the vendor for their consideration.
