The vendor of this 1988 TVR 350i is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:
There are lots of opinions within the Restoring Classics team when it comes to purchasing cars for the programme. Some opinions are stronger than others…and when it came to this 1988 TVR it was cameraman Joe who led the charge. Hailing from Blackpool, cameraman Joe is very passionate about anything which comes out of his home town, be it 1980s fibreglass sports cars, a stick of rock or Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Fortunately the tower wasn’t on sale at Mathewsons in May 2025, so it was the TVR which came up trumps.
We wanted to take the car back to the town where it was built, so with Joe in tow it was sent over to X-Works. Heath & Paul, who run the garage, are both ex-TVR having worked in the factory from the early 90s right up until the doors closed in Dec 2006. So we knew it would be in the best hands possible.
Our ‘wedge’ has been through a hefty mechanical and bodywork overhaul. Work on the car includes (but is not limited to!)
Heath at X-Works has tested the car on the famous ‘Mile Straight’, a famous historic TVR engineering factory route. He reports the car to have a very good engine and chassis.
The car comes with a clean MOT valid until the end of May 2027. Providing you can prise the car from Joe’s hands we’re hoping the next owner car enjoy the upcoming British summer (scheduled for a day in early September) in a true British classic.
PLEASE NOTE: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics, they will not be immaculate and they will no doubt need ongoing maintenance and repair. We suggest you make your own checks first.
