1976 Austin Mini
A very well-sorted, solid and enjoyable car with 52,000 genuine miles
The underside has had rust prevention gel applied, which has gone a milky colour; the car is solid
Loads of original features and modern upgrades
Car was originally an 850 but was restored around 10 years ago and now has a genuine Innocenti 1300cc Cooper S engine (with the extra stud in the cylinder head)
Starter motor and radiator were replaced with new ones
Twin HS2 carbs
RC40 sports exhaust
Electric ignition
Engine was built by well-known A-series expert Rob Walker of Whitney with a fast road cam and sports pistons
Completely rebuilt gearbox with slightly longer 4th gear
Tuned by Southam Mini.
Engine has done around 1000 miles, so nicely bedded in
The interior has also been retrimmed with the original seats in dove grey with anthracite piping
Matching door cards and anthracite carpets.
The front and rear have been modified to look more like a MK1 with grille and moustache, MK1 rear lights, MK1 bootlid, new bumpers with overriders
Three spot lamps
Rally wheel arches to accommodate the wider tyres
Repainted 10-inch Minilite wheels with brand new Yokohama tyres, including one non-matching spare
Grey boot-boards fitted with a Bosch battery
Front brakes have been upgraded to discs, with the rubber cone suspension replaced with springs
