The vendor of this Jawa Speedway Bike Frame is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:
In August 2025, we made our first foray into the sideways world of Speedway Bikes with our purchase of not one, but two of the things!
They were not identical in the fact that one of them was without an engine. But who are we to waste a perfectly good frame? This one is model type 884-5 (1998-2005).
This was sent to John Jennings (or JJ as he is more commonly known), who is based just down the road from the auctions, and who completed a comprehensive refurbishment of the frame. JJ has spent many years working within the Speedway industry, supplying parts to many of the top riders in the field.
Work completed on this rolling frame was:
- Frame and forks jig checked for conformity
- NEB countershaft (refurbished) and clutch
- Wheels rebuilt, including replacing bearings and spokes
- Rear wheels updated to wider (2.15) rim
- Fork and machine covers replaced, new cables, new L/h footrest bracket, and footrest
- Primary chain guard and many more sundry items
- New fibreglass guards, including a rear chain guard, were fitted
This bike is still lacking an engine - but it’s a very nearly complete Jawa Speedway Bike. So if you have the motor…perhaps this is the bike for you!
