The vendor of this 1990 Renault 5 Monaco Auto is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:

We bought this lovely French hatchback in November of last year. It had been very well looked after by its previous owner who had it in their possession since 1995. With fewer than 24k miles on the clock and a healthy service history - we thought we were on to a good’un and stuck our hands in the air at auction.

We sent the car down to John and the team at Saddleworth Motor Services. It really had been well looked after so no big nut & bolt restoration was required with this one (music to our finance manager’s ears). We still found a nice amount to do on it though, which included:

  • New rear brakes
  • Repair to f/n/s inner arch
  • Undersealed
  • Front seats have been reconnolised
  • Refresh to the rear quarter panels
  • Engine has been fully cleaned (with ice & steam!)
  • Repair to the lower grill
  • Various dents have been straightened out on its satin beige exterior
  • Wheels refurbed and new caps
  • Exhaust repair (new ones were none existed, but repair has made it look as good as new)

The car has had a full service and now boasts a full 12 months MOT. The fancy suit carrier underneath the parcel shelf should be in full working order, ready for your next dinner party.

PLEASE NOTE: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics, they will not be immaculate and they will no doubt need ongoing maintenance and repair. We suggest you make your own checks first.
