The vendor has provided the following:

The vendor of this 2006 Ford Fiesta ST is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:

Most of the cars we buy for the programme are of a similar age to the team who make the series and the work we have to do on them usually involves cutting out lots of age related rust. However, we do have some younger members of the crew working their way in and it only seemed fair to purchase some vehicles which were around for their teens.

We purchased YD06 OBV in November last year, and it’s proved to be the problem child ever since.

Its youthful age did not make it immune to corrosion and it demanded lots of attention from us underneath.

Alas, we caved and gave it everything it wanted and then gave it a little more to keep it quiet. We sorted out all the flaky bits including a new rear axle, front struts, fuel filler pipes and a new handbrake cable (no donuts allowed on this one). The front and rear brakes were in need of an upgrade so we fitted it with some fresh uprated discs and pads.

In terms of arguably unnecessary upgrades, we wanted to enter the world of ‘resto mods’ with one of our cars. And this seemed the best one to do it with.

So we added some lowering springs and purchased a ‘power kit’ to make it more responsive. This includes (in short) a new exhaust system boosting the BHP from 150 to about 170. The onboard ECU has been remapped to suit the power kit.

It’s had its front seats recovered and the left window now goes up and down. It’s had a service and is good for another 12 months MOT.

The right hand speakers do not work on this car and we have been unable to fix them.

PLEASE NOTE: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics, they will not be immaculate and they will no doubt need ongoing maintenance and repair. We suggest you make your own checks first.
