Current V5 present. Paperwork includes a Driver's Handbook, a P.Olyslager Motor Manual, a current MOT certificate, V11 tax reminders, a British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate, a promotional brochure, a photoalbum containing photographs and information regarding the car, and various invoices.

The vendor has provided the following:

  • Mark 1 MGB GT in Grampian grey, which is a very rare colour
  • Bought from Mathewsons in July 2022 as an abandoned restoration
  • The bodywork was poor, but the engine looked good
  • I started by stripping out the seats, interior panels and all the glass. I inspected all the bodywork and structure
  • The wheel arches and chassis members that were rusted were cut out, and new metal let in
  • New lower wing sections, sills and windscreen surround were welded in place
  • The tailgate was not salvageable, so I sourced a new one and primed it up
  • I cut back the rest of the bodywork to bare metal and primed it, ready for the top coat
  • The car was then taken to the paint shop for painting
  • The colour is Grampian grey, which is a very rare colour (although I did not know this at the time of buying. Not many were produced as grey was not a popular colour in the 60s and I have been informed that there are only about 30 left registered in this colour in the country)
  • On its return from the body shop, I set about rebuilding the car with new interior panels and carpets
  • The leather seats were cleaned and repaired
  • The glass was refitted along with new lamps
  • The road wheels were shot blasted, repaired, and powder coated, and new caps fitted
  • On test driving, I found that the gearbox, rear axle and prop shaft were in a poor condition
  • New parts were sourced, and the gearbox, rear axle and prop shaft were then reconditioned
  • New brake parts and suspension were installed, and electrical items under the bonnet were replaced
  • The engine was fully inspected and new gasgets fitted and tuned
  • After painting, the underside was fully bilthelm wax undersealed, and all box sections wax injected
  • A reconditioned gearbox, prop-shaft and rear axle were fitted, and all new suspension and brake parts installed
