The vendor has kindly offered the following: This Watsonian sidecar was used by the RAC in the 60’s probably connected to a Norton ES2 Motorcycle, containing the patrolman's tools for roadside assistance. Slowly during the 1960's the RAC and its rival motoring association the AA moved towards equipping their patrol personnel with vans, the last RAC motorcycle combination patrols used the Norton ES2 with the sidecars tailor-made for the job by Watsonian
