Current V5 present. Paperwork includes a confirmation of year of manufacture from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, MOT certificates, previous V5s, printed photographs of the vehicle, previous insurance documents, V11 tax reminders, and various invoices.

The vendor has provided the following:

  • The family have flown over from Taiwan especially to watch the auction. Anything over £27,000 will be donated to Prostate Cancer.
  • This car may be well known to some members of the Rover P5/P5B community
  • Before we bought it, it had been lovingly cared for by the same owner for 38 years
  • It then went through auction at Mathewsons last year, and I purchased it shortly after for my father in Harrogate
  • Since then, the car has been professionally dry stored in Harrogate and well maintained
  • Sadly, my father has recently passed away
  • As I live in Taiwan, much as I would love to keep the car, the reality of professional dry storage costs and the limited opportunities I would have to enjoy it properly mean that it is no longer practical for me to do so
  • When we took ownership, the only work required was attention to the carburettors
  • This has now been done professionally, including replacement needles and jets, balancing, and associated work
  • We have also had the fuel hoses under the bonnet attended to
  • The car comes with a substantial history file, which we have organised into a binder
  • Notable previous work includes a new transmission and torque converter around 2,000 miles ago, a comprehensive repaint, and a wonderful buckskin refurbishment
  • It is not a concours car, but it is a splendid example and one that deserves to be driven and enjoyed
