The vendor of this 2000 Saab 93 SE Turbo is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:
We purchased this car back in March 2025 from Mathewsons with a view of it featuring in the Restoring Classics programme. However, after securing the highest bid on X819 WRA and bringing it back to our head office, certain members of the team started to become rather fond of the silver slipper and it was quickly recruited as one of our pool cars.
The car has driven several hundred miles delivering footage and camera equipment around Yorkshire. Despite never giving us any mechanical problems, its lack of Apple Car Play and Bluetooth has meant it’s not a huge hit with our Gen Z staff members who apparently don’t appreciate Mike and the Mechanics on Medium Wave. It’s also recently treated us to an engine management light so we’re trading it in and on the hunt for a younger model.
The car's MOT is still good from when we bought it until April 2026 and we’ve cleaned out any Greggs wrappers and coffee cups from the door pockets. We hope the next owner has just as much enjoyment from it as we have and the amber light on the dashboard isn’t anything too sinister.
PLEASE NOTE: We have only done a minimal amount of work since we purchased it from Mathewsons Auctions and it is a long haul from a minter. We advise you to make your own vehicle checks before bidding.
Our auctions are currently operating as 'Live Online' auctions - details on how to bid are shown below.
Live bidding through our website
When the auction gets underway, you can bid live from the comfort of your own home. To use our live bidding service you must have created an account on our website - a quick and easy process. Please ensure you use the 'Pre-Register for Live Bidding' option to take advantage of our live bidding service.
Leaving a bid prior to the auction
You can leave a bid prior to the auction day through our website - this is called an 'absentee' bid. Prior to the auction start time, simply sign in to your account on our website and leave a bid. If you prefer to bid by telephone, please contact us to request this and we will confirm if we can accommodate this for you.
Submit Best Bid – For lots where no estimate is shown, the highest bid at the fall of the hammer will be submitted to the vendor.
