This Morris 1000 should really have been scrapped. Found in a garden in Walthamstow East London with a tramp living in it, the shell was rotten in every area and the interior was falling to bits. The car underwent a 4 year restoration in and around other restorations and was carried out by a professional motor trader. The Minor was intended for use as a personal vehicle and no expense was spared and the car was restored sympathetically to its original specifications so that it could easily be returned to factory if desired at a later date. The car was undersealed as it was intended for year round use
Items replaced include all floor panels, cross members, fitch panels, wings, completely new braking system and fuel system, full repaint in original birch grey, new headlining, carpets, seats and a fully stripped down and rebuilt engine and overhauled gearbox. Pretty much all engine ancillaries replaced with new and most of the loom was also replaced. In total over £10k spent on this car in the last 7 years.
Unfortunately, during COVID plans changed and the car has sat un-used since the restoration was completed. Aside from needing a new set of tyres and a few little cosmetic bits and bobs here and there, this car is essentially a fully rebuilt almost new car that hasn’t been used in years. Needs to be used and loved once more
