The Vendor has provided the following:

  • My unfinished, well honestly not far off finished 1984 Mexican built, limited edition Winter Bug
  • There were 1500 of these made and sold in 1883, and a further 1700, in 1984.
  • They were sold by Volkswagen via the European dealer network in France, Italy, and Germany
  • This one was originally sold in Germany, and was later imported into the UK.
  • The Winter Bug had Ice Blue metallic paint, special seat trim and either white! or black carpet. Fortunately this one has black.
  • I bought it approximately 6 years ago, and began the project of building it into a German Look inspired late model beetle. It was to be my last Beetle project, a keeper, and a retirement project. So I really poured myself into it and the spec and spending
  • I have been around the VW scene since 1980, I have completed many projects. This one was intended to include many of those things that I had always intended to do, but
    never got around to.
  • I worked in the vehicle body repair industry and then worked as a lecturer teaching, body repair, restoration and paintwork.
  • I may have done this as a project at home, but always to a high professional standard. If a job is not worth doing properly for yourself, then when is it? I have 100’s of
digital photos of the work that was carried out.
  • The car is pretty much complete. It needs the wings mounting (already painted) and an engine fitting.
  • The problem is my health. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and now I am at an age where it makes me struggle to have the mobility to work on the car, and my hands are affected, which prevents long periods of manualwork, and achieving the results I desire
