The current V5 is present but is missing the Trade slip, paperwork includes a service book with 22 stamps, the current mot certificate, previous mot history, various invoices for work carried out, owner's manual, and a stamped service booklet.

We sold this Renault Clio Williams 2 to the Bangers & Cash restoration team a few months ago. It was a decent car that had some tired bodywork and paint in a few places, and it needed someone who knew about these cars to give it a real good recommission and service. That is exactly what has happened.

I am sure the Bangers crew will have spent too much, but it looks well spent. The car sounds great and drives really well. The Bangers team write:

We have written before that we wish we could keep some of the cars we are restoring for the TV show - and this is currently at the top of the list. Not only do we think it might actually increase in value over time but it has the most comfortable seats in any hot hatch.

I am sure those that are reading this know this is the Renault Clio Williams 2, the second generation in the 3 phases of limited edition Williams Clio, which means it doesn’t have a sunroof like the Williams 3, but it is the same colour blue as the Williams 1.

It looks great & importantly for future values - we are told there are only 33 of these left.

Looking through the MOTs and bills when we got the car it was well maintained, regularly serviced and well used up until 2011. By that time it had done 130k, but since then it has only done another 25k. They are meant to be driven, hence the miles - but this drives so well now that Dave M. said if it said 50k on the odometer, he would believe it.

We have spent in excess of 8k on this car, and it shows.

The recommissioning work has been done by Williams Clio fan James Webb and his team at South West Lotus…including

New rear arches made and painted.

Repairs to floor panel and one damaged wing.

Paint to both sides.

Brakes - repairs, new discs & pads

Full service

Cambelt change

Filters etc

New custom Powerflow stainless steel exhaust inc. sports cat. (£1k)

Wheels refurbished.

The car comes with a year's MOT , has unique door sill decals (see pic) and is finished beautifully with some fine detailing and polishing work.

There is still some work to do - in that it needs new stereo speakers.
