The vendor has provided the following:
History
- I was told that the previous owner purchased the car in 1992 with 31,000 miles on the clock. It had previously been run as his company car through a leasing company who were the actual first owner.
- I purchased the car in July ’21 and like so many others, one small job turned into another and the 325i was off the road for nearly two years, during this time work included:
- Respray, new fabric roof, major mechanical overhaul, wheels powder coated, custom stainless exhaust, Blaupunkt Bremen Radio, SIL battery replacement, etc., etc.
Comments
- In my admittedly biased opinion, the car is bodily and mechanically, a great example of the highly desirable E30 325i Cabriolet.
- It is not by any description a concours car even though, it has been recommissioned and then serviced regardless of cost (nearly £34K to date including purchase price). It has always been a car to drive to local shows and jaunts on sunny days, rather than a trailer queen.
- During my ownership, the car has been thoroughly recommissioned and now gains admiring nods glances whenever and wherever it’s driven.
- My long ‘to do’ list has all been completed apart from the car’s interior, which once done would make it the truly stunning car it was meant to be. Like all 36-year-old cars there’ll always be a new little screw to tighten, blub to replace, etc., but it still not only looks but sounds beautiful too (courtesy of the professionally built, hand-made exhaust).
- However, there is nothing to the best of my knowledge, stopping the car being used for many years ‘as is’.
- Sadly though, I have to call time on my ownership as a new car on the horizon dictates its sale
