After failing an MOT in 1988 (rotting floor pan), the car was garaged for a number of years before undergoing an extensive body, mechanical, and component restoration over two periods by the last two owners between 2012 and 2024
Documentation includes many invoices and photos covering the restoration period, and before then back to original bills from Olaf Olsen of Huddersfield, plus the original owner's manual and several workshop manuals
During this restoration, the odometer was reset from just over 60,000 miles and now shows 4,800

The restoration included:
Full dismantling and rebuild. The body shell was dipped, stripped, and initially resprayed in two-tone blue. In 2023, resprayed again (some body imperfections removed) to Alpine Blue metallic, this being an original Volvo ES colour, undersealed again
Engine rebuild, skimmed and rebored cylinder head, unleaded valve seats, new head gasket, detailed in Volvo red
Re-cored radiator, cooling fan, heater valve. Brake servo, fuel tank, oil pressure gauge re-furbished, and new oil pressure line fitted
New chrome side strips, windscreen trims, front & rear bumpers, rear badge, tailgate locking mechanism, door handles, wiper arms, 4 new chrome wheel trims, new injector wiring harness rewire, speedo cable, thermostat, ignition-coil, new interior headlining and sun visors fitted
Autosound classic car DAB/FM radio 200 with Bluetooth connectivity
Recent improvements include new front indicator/sidelight units, and wiring tidied up
