1942 FORD JEEP

Sold for £8,000

Note that some lots may be sold provisionally

Lot details

Make: FORD
Model: JEEP
Year of Manufacture: 1942
Current V5: NO
Location: PICKERING

No V5 but has the certificate of title from the State of Nevada and a letter confirming the VAT duty has been correctly accounted for.

The vendor has kindly supplied the following:

FORD GPW JEEP WW" (same as Willys MB) GPW 263556

Recent import from Nevada, the driest state in the USA. The chassis is excellent, straight and rust-free, front horns are not damaged or bent so just needs new gussets and bumper bolting on together with a new cross-member at the rear which is an easy task. Really good body tub, straight and square, needs repairs to front and rear floors in all the usual places but otherwise good. The cowl has not been modified or cut and the dashboard has all original holes and again has not been butchered. The front wings/screen/grille and bonnet are also really straight and mostly rust free. Have had the engine running from a petrol can, sounds sweet with no nasty noises. Gearbox selects all gears and 4WD/Hi-Lo all selects. Has a later T90 gearbox fitted but the jeep comes with the correct wartime T84/T18 unit to make it all original. Excellent base for restoration will make a really nice jeep without needing everything done.
