The vendor has provided the following:

  • This is a 2001 Mercedes R129 SL Designo 280 Special Edition, one of the very last cars off the R129 production line, and ONE OF ONLY 50 Designo 280s made. (For an excellent account of the full story of these very rare cars, Google Martin Atkinson September 2024 design)
  • Like all of the Designo 280s, it is finished in the special colour of Alanite Green, as were all the Designo 280s
  • The article lists Special Designo features, including Java Leather and burr Walnut trim, matching Designo floor mats, special 6-hole lightweight two-piece alloy wheels, and light cream Java leather seats, all as seen on the car- and this car has additional options of heated electric memory seats, and rear passenger seats
  • Mileage is c.85,000
  • Other R129 features include automatic transmission, hard and (powered) soft-tops, an automated roll-over bar which can be set up or down (but if down automatically raises to protect passengers in the event of the car rolling), electric wing-mirrors, air-conditioning, and a wind-deflector which can be attached to it or stored in the boot
  • The engine is the desirable V6, which replaced the straight 6 used in the R129 280 until 1998
