Italian electrics in a warzone?

This intriguing machine caught our imagination in July 23, a V-Twin Moto Guzzi in Dutch military khaki uniform.

We didn’t want to go over the top with this restoration as the bike carries so much history with it - so we set out to get it mechanically sound whilst still keeping its mid-80s patina.

Bob and Adrian Dawson of Pocklington have given this bike a good service - work includes:

  • New battery
  • New brake pads
  • New oil and air filters
  • Oil change
  • Replacement rear suspension
  • Replacement air box

As well as the work done by Bob and Adrian, we’ve had the rear wheel realigned by Roy Thersby of Stockton, and we’ve also had some custom made exhaust silencers from Armour Motor Products in Bournemouth.

We had so much faith in the bike we rode it in the Netherlands where we discovered its military service record.

The bike now boasts a 12 month MOT. We’ve filmed most of the restoration work for an upcoming series of Bangers & Cash: Restoring Classics.

Please Note: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics and will no doubt have imperfections. Please do your own checks before bidding.
