The vendor has provided the following:

  • This 1961 Mk 2 MGA has had a full body off restoration, being rebuilt in the 60's period
  • The car's appearance stands out from the crowd
  • It is a real pleasure to drive
  • The engine has had a full rebuild
  • Originally built as an LHD and shipped to the USA
  • It was imported back to the UK in 2012 and fully restored to RHD during 2019/2020

During the restoration, the following work was carried out:

  • Chassis repaired with new parts, shot blasted, and powder-coated
  • Body and all body parts stripped to bare metal, repaired with new panels, resprayed in Ferrari Blu Scozia
  • New floors installed
  • Front suspension, fully rebuilt with the addition of an anti-roll bar
  • New discs and pads
  • 1622 cc engine fully rebuilt, re-bored, crank reground, rear oil seal conversion, front damper pulley, lightened flywheel, and fully balanced
  • The cylinder head was rebuilt by Peter Burgess to stage 1, with Piper cam B401@108, rebuilt 1 1/2 SU carburettors with No.6 needles and red springs
  • Stainless steel exhaust manifold and system, electronic ignition
  • Electronic fuel pump, Oil cooler
  • The gearbox is a type 9 conversion, fully rebuilt with a diaphragm MGB clutch
  • Wheels are minilite style 5 1/2, with Dunlop tyres, spare wheel is steel
  • Note that the original refurbished steel wheels are available with the car
  • The interior has blue piped tan leather, matching carpets, and a mohair tonneau cover and hood
  • New side screens with their bag for stowage in the boot
  • Twin 12V batteries, rebuilt radiator with upgraded core

Welcome to our October Auction!

The viewing period for this auction is Wednesday 1 October 2025 - Tuesday 7 October 2025. 

Prospective buyers are encouraged to view specific lots pre-auction and inspect paperwork if available.

The entrance fee is £5 per person during the viewing periods at our Pickering branch. 
This forms part of our annual fundraising to help local and national charities chosen by us.
 
Each auction throughout the year will witness a collection / donation.
