Current V5 present. Paperwork includes large files including a description from the vendor, valuation certificate, photos, invoices, operating manuals, mats, a box of spare parts, and promotional paperwork.
The vendor has supplied the following:
An original MG YA with matching Chassis, Body, and Engine numbers has only two owners from new.
The V5 document confirms the first was in Huddersfield 1951-2012 and the Second in Co. Durham 18th Dec 2012 to present.
Two large folders contain historical information of servicing etc., a statement of work done prior to the second owner purchase, a Valuation certificate for insurance purposes, many reciepts, MOT test certificates and a very interesting owners maintenance notebook.
There is also a full MG Manual alongside numerous maintenance worksheets and historical magazines.
"Joy" is listed in the international MGY register NO. 6686.
She is an unadulterated "One and a quarter liter" series MGY saloon ripe for an enthusiastic restorer to do what the current owner has not been able to do because of major health issues in the last five years. (That is to restore her "Sparkle")
There is a box of new items awaiting fitment and some old odds and ends with a radio that was once fitted. A new battery was fitted on 16th August 2012 and she has been stored in a dry garage for the last five years.
The engine spins freely but the carburetor and petrol lines will need cleaning to facilitate starting and the petrol tank emptying.
Her last major outing was to do two legs of the Round Britain Relay celebrating 70 years of MGYs in 2017. She drove without difficulty from Gainsborough to Hexham in the most dreadful of weathers, it absolutely tipped it down.
