Current V5 present. Paperwork includes old V5s, an Owner's Handbook, V11 tax reminders, receipts, invoices, certificates, DVLA correspondence, previous motor insurance, and diagrams.

The highest bid at the end of the auction will be submitted to the vendor for their consideration.

The vendor has provided the following:

You can blame John the cameraman for this one, but I, Andy Joynson (Exec Producer of the show), will carry the can.

There was an M reg. Ford Escort Mexico Mk1 that turned up at the auction a year or so ago - my generation.

Sebring Red, tatty in places - cardboard boxes of parts in the back, and all the hallmarks

an original car. Never raced or rallied as they say, it looked like one you would have bought from Exchange & Mart in the early eighties for a few hundred quid - that was the car's appeal

We checked out the numbers, a genuine AVO car, designed to last about ten years when it was built - and here it was, obviously held together in places - but very original.

We immediately discounted it, knowing it would cost a small fortune as it was, and then another small fortune to restore - then to sell it would be heartbreaking and the two fortunes spent would be a big fortune that would probably be more than the sale price.

So, here we have it - with no reserve, submit best bid - back to standard, stunning in Sebring Red: NBF 343M.

It has had a full nut and bolt restoration at the Classic Car Workshop - work includes:

  • Completely stripped.
  • 100’s of hours of welding.
  • Some new panels, sills, floor panels, arches.
  • Original engine rebuild (it had been previously overbored)
  • Revolutions off, steel wheels on.
  • Fresh MOT

The car was a good original base, but NBF had been enthusiastically kept going over the years by its previous owners. 18 months later, everything is right and the aerial is back in the right place. These things are important.

Please do come and have a look at the car, it is stunning.

PLEASE NOTE: We take great pride in restoring our cars but they are classics, they will not be immaculate and they will no doubt need ongoing maintenance and repair. We suggest you make your own checks first.
