Reason for sale
At 74 years with significant, deteriorating back problems for past 10 years, I find getting in and out of
the car’s low seating position increasingly difficult.
In Feb 2014 the mileage was 96,518. In the past 10 yrs I have driven the car less than 3,000 miles.
The car has been kept in my dry garage under its protective thick fitted cover.
Service History 1997- 2006
Very little service detail relating to the first 6 keepers but since 2006 the service and renovation work
is fully documented to date with all invoices etc.
Service History since 2006
Between August 2007 and May 2015 all service and renovation work was solely undertaken by Aston
Martin Works Service in Newport Pagnell - final visit May 2015 when the recorded mileage was
97,284.
Detailed Invoices are included in the car’s folder with MOTs, Log book, Tracker transfer form etc.
Significant work is detailed in the invoice dated 5th August 2009 (86,280 miles) which included a full
body, hand-finished paint job by Aston Martin Works Service - £20,988
A second significant job involved a complete rebuild of the front and rear suspension (90,080 miles)
as described by invoice dated 11th Feb 2011 - £10,708.
Engine removed and rebuilt by Aston Martin at their expense (2011) at 90,560 miles. No invoice
available for this as I did not pay. (Aston Martin inferred the issue that damaged the then faultless
engine was due to them hence complementary replacement/rebuilt engine)
In January 2012 more significant work was done at 92,692 miles as described in the invoice of this
date - £10,151
The final Aston Martin Works invoice is dated 08.06.2015 when the mileage was 97,662 - £6,548
In July 2015 (97,846) I took the car to Trinity Engineering in Cobham for fitting of a new engine oil
cooler and other work as detailed - £3,597.
In January 2019 (98,975 miles) I took the car to Chic Doig Classics Sportscars in Fife for fitting of
new replacement front brake calipers + pads and replacing of LH Auto transmission oil cooler - £1,851
excluding parts.
The car is in full running order. I am not aware of any problems.
Included in Sale
Original radio equipment leads and boot-located 6CD player (not operational) + boot trim items.
The car can be easily converted back to its original 1997 specification.
Unused space-saver spare wheel + original tools in boot well.
Aston Martin Workshop Manuals (2 vols) plus Parts List (1 vol) + the original Aston Martin owner’s
manual that came with the car.
2 original key sets including 2 separate remote-control fobs for door locking/boot opening and
electronic security/immobilisation.
Two car covers tailored to the car - one lightweight nylon + one thick fabric.
