Current V5 present. Paperwork includes a folder of invoices, diagrams, MOT certificates, old tax discs, and a previous V5.

The vendor has provided the following:

  • Mk2 Golf GTi 8v Big Bumper
  • Only three owners from the new holding have had a full 12 months (at the time of writing) MOT
  • This 8-valve Big Bumper Golf GTi was first purchased by one of the Directors at Gilders Volkswagen dealership
  • He had a few factory dealer-fitted upgrades to the car, including electric windows and an electric motor for the sunroof
  • The GTi was then sold to a well-known touring musician, who enjoyed the car for many years before handing over the keys and logbook to one of his colleagues who had hankered after it for over a decade
  • The GTi was put into dry storage in July 2019, and a house sale means this Hot Hatch needs its fourth custodian
  • A new nearside wing was fitted recently, and some welding to the sill was required for the MOT
  • The car requires some tender loving care to bring it back to its full glory, as it’s now 34 years old
  • It’s solid and complete, and perhaps more importantly, unmolested, sitting on a set of original BBS alloys with good tyres
  • The interior is in fair condition with only a small clean tear to the driver seat bolster (this isn’t worn through, and with care could be hand-stitched), and the headliner needs attention as it is pinned up at present
  • The car was driven to the auction
