The vendor has provided the model of the vehicle to be a 1967 Austin Mini Cooper S Mk2. Please confirm upon your own inspection.
The highest bid at the end of the auction will be submitted to the vendor for their consideration.
The vendor has provided the following:
So, after a few years of flying the flag for Bangers & Cash at shows and events, it is time to say goodbye to our Cooper S
The car was purchased having already undergone a recent, extensive restoration
It was not restored by the programme, although we have improved it
Prior to our ownership:
The parts invoices come: £6615.92
The Newton Commercials Cooper S correct powder blue & gold interior: £7662.21
Soda blasting & priming: £1504.06
So without the labour charges and the painting, we are already at nearly 16K
LCV started life at the Petone Austin factory in Wellington, New Zealand. The Mini was a huge kiwi hit, and the Cooper S was used by NZ police as a pursuit vehicle
At some stage, it was imported into the UK, and its restoration began
It has been painted in two-tone Radford colours - like the Beatles’ Radford Coopers. The bottom half is a lovely P5 Rover colour, Midnite Blue (BU45), and the top half is a Cooper S colour, Snowberry White (WT4)
I did think about putting it back to its original colours, but I regularly park it near York Minster, and lots of people flock to it and take selfies. It clearly makes people very happy as it is and always draws a crowd, which was, of course, the car's job for the programme, so Radfordesque it stayed
With new Dunlop D1 wheels and tyres, a recent big service up at Mini Sport in Huddersfield and nearly a year of MOT - the car drives well, feels lively and looks great
It is a really cool-looking car and a proper nippy Cooper S, ready to drive and enjoy
Included in the sale:
The clothes peg to hold the choke out
The extremely rare and no doubt appreciating limited edition authorised press pack Mini Cooper S model from Bangers & Cash Series 1
