The vendor of this 1989 Reliant Robin LX is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:

We bought this little three-wheeled gem from Mathewsons auctions in December 2023. With the LX suffix, we thought we'd be lapping up luxury, when in reality it just meant there was a leather trimmed steering wheel and some of the dials were white…

For three-wheeled wonders, mechanics with a suitable ramp are few and far between. However, not too far down the road in Wakefield are Reliant Rescue who have a passion for Robins and a garage full of second-hand Reliant parts.

Key work done on the car (not an exhaustive list):

• A second-hand heater box added
• Brake cylinders, shoes, and drums replaced
• New battery
• Replacement driver’s seat cover and broken rear seat springs
• Electronic ignition
• Upgraded stereo (so it actually fits!)
• Full service - includes oil & filter, new plugs, retune carb, check levels on axle/gearbox and do all grease points
• Clean engine, replace rocker cover gasket
• Electrical faults are all fixed
• Replaced fuel pipes
• Replacement exhaust downpipe
• New front drag arm
• Remove silicone in the engine bay and replace the vacuum cleaning pipes with genuine heater hoses and grommets to stop water from leaking into the interior
• New clutch
• New rear tyres w/original alloys and wheel nuts

The car now boasts a valid MOT until March 2025.
