Along with a comfy, dog-bitten old slipper and a packet of mint imperials everyone in late middle age should aspire to a Volvo estate (preferably in two-tone beige).
We clapped eyes on our 760 Auto in the Pickering yard in late 2022, a 20-something type was overheard describing it as ‘care-home-caravan-towing-motoring’, clearly unaware that this was the muscle version with a Corsa-humiliating 6 cylinder under the bonnet.

We snapped up this usable classic for £3100 and sent it less than 10 miles down the road to May’s Garage. Restorer Jonny loved the car as much as we did and has brought E124 UKY up to the standard you have come to expect with a Volvo.

Here at Bangers HQ we are still coming to terms with the recent news that Volvo has discontinued their famous estate cars but the silver lining is that we reckon this classic will soon become even more of a collectors item.
