Lea Francis was a Coventry based firm which originally manufactured bicycles and they manufactured their first car in 1904. During the 1920's and 30's they built small sporting models such as the Hyper and Ace of Spades. The 12hp and 14hp were introduced in 1937 and continued until 1939 when production stopped and the factory concentrated on manufacturing of the war efforts. Production recommenced in 1946.
14hp sports and saloons were luxurious, appealing to individually over mass production. The 14hp tourer had up to the minute styling and was powered by Harry Rose designed Lea Francis Riley-esque twin cam shaft 1.8 litre 4 and good for 85mph. 118 cars were produced between 1947 and 1949. We believe that 40 of this model were on the road in 2016.
The model offered here is as follows:-
