The vendor has provided the following:
I have loved restoring and owning this classic kit car over the years.
I purchased the car on 19th October 2018 in very poor condition. I have carried out the restoration work before and during the Covid lockdown period, and continue to care for her (Valerie) each and every day. She is my pride and joy!
All bodywork/fiberglass work completed with a full paint re-spray, 9 coats, and hand finished. (Over 300 hours of my own hard work.) She is beautiful, the job is done right. I’m a retired Engineer!
Cylinder head re-worked, valves re-ground, springs, gas flowed, etc. Brought up to modern-day standards, this was done by a professional engineering local company (York Area)
Before I bought the car, the engine was re-bored to 1290cc and a high lift cam installed. More recently, a sports air filter was fitted by me, which makes a big difference, easier to start, smoother running at lower speeds, more power, and sounds amazing!
Stainless steel bespoke exhaust and Stainless steel fuel tank, never had a problem with any of the MOTs whilst in my ownership. The examiner at the last test commented on how clean the car was. Always run on Shell V Power unleaded, never been out in the rain, and lived in my garage under wraps, used only for warm day trips in the countryside
Soundproofed, with new carpet and Cloud 9 underlay inside the car, engine compartment rubberised/foil sound deadening with engine paint detailing
Master cut-out switch (Red Key) fitted under the bonnet comes with 2 ignition keys. Upon switching on, the electric fuel can be heard ticking. This is normal
New windscreen washer motor replaced
40 years old this year, hence this next MOT will be its last, although as an enthusiast, I would personally recommend the new owner to continue to test each year. Never had an MOT problem.
The reason for my sale is I’m now 68 years old and think it’s time to hand over its custodianship to someone who will love and care for it as I have for many happy years to come. Very fast (be careful), loves to rev hard and not for the faint hearted, no servo on brakes
