This beautiful car is only with us due to the family's sad loss.
I feel it's one of the best XK's I've seen in a long, long time.
By that I mean the car is so mellowed and honest, and to use an old motor trade saying. 'Straight' The more time you spend with the car, the better it gets.
We've all seen endless (IMO) over restored cars at shows and gatherings. And we've seen the opposite end. The worn and tired examples. All have their place in the industry, but does the experienced collector go down this route? Maybe at first. However, when they get to know what makes a great car..... They soon change tactics.
I feel I've never sold a car in my 37 years in the industry, however I've supplied thousands. So this is not by any means a 'Sales Pitch' just my opinion on what I feel is a lovely, lovely car.
I genuinely hope the car goes into long term ownership and is cherished and enjoyed by the next custodian. We never lose sight of the fact that as a family we are enthusiastic collectors first.... Car dealers second.
NB: The ultra sensible guide on the car.
I was asked to value with just one basic photograph. (Car partially covered) Somewhat tricky. So I "Leaned on the side of caution"!
Unlike some, we never over value a clients car in a bid to secure an entry. We simply inform owners of where the current market is sitting..... and I feel an 'Average XK' sits in the price band suggested. This example is far from an 'Average XK'
I've taken the unusual step to write the above solely because of our families passion, fairness, transparency and most importantly the fact I fear the family are unaware of exactly how nice a car they have.
Lifes all about being fair.
But don't take my word for it. Come along and take a look before parting with your hard earned money. The above is only my personal opinion .... and what do I know?
David Mathewson.
PS: The car also has a 5 speed gearbox upgrade. New owner to apply for V5. Sadly supplied with no paperwork.
