The vendor has provided the following:

The vendor of this 1960 Austin A35 is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:

This little van was bought for the most ridiculous financial reason ever - because we felt sorry for it.

It was sitting there in the North Yorkshire rain, scabby, stinky, unloved, looking for some idiot with a heart and a credit card to give it a chance in life.

‘Keep it original,’ said Derek.

This van had a truck load of originality, so much so that it came with no paperwork and the write up on the website told us it had ‘never been welded’. An MOT changed that…it needed a little welding to keep it safely on the roads. So some originality had to be left at the garage door.

KSS garage in Ingleton were the lucky recipients of this hard working van. They poked and prodded…and when a cardigan came out of one of the sills as ‘filler’, we knew we were in it for the long run.

‘Keeping it original’ included:

  • New sills on both sides
  • Front and rear wing repairs
  • Cut out rust rust-affected area of the floors & weld in the repair section
  • Make up & shape front wheel arches & weld in
  • New headlining
  • New seals and rubbers
  • Adjust the play in the kingpins by replacing the shims
  • Changed shock absorbers with new bushes
  • New clamp on the exhaust
  • New manifold gasket
  • New fan belt
  • New tyres
  • Full respray in Castrol Oil green with Old English White roof and wheels

We have intentionally left the interior of this van as original as possible. So come and step into a time machine with this lovely A35. It now boasts a clean MOT good until April 2026!

PLEASE NOTE: We take great pride in restoring our cars but they are classics, they will not be immaculate and they will no doubt need ongoing maintenance and repair. We suggest you make your own checks first.
