The vendor has provided the following:
The vendor of this 2004 Bentley Continental GT is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:
Back in March of this year we clearly had ideas beyond our station and stuck our hand in the air quite confidently to be the next owners of a 2004 Bentley Continental GT. It was ours for less than £20k (well, if you deduct that smidge of commission).
We were thrilled. We took the car down to Hillier Hill in Oxfordshire for them to give it a fresh service and check everything was working as one would expect. They were very impressed! Albeit not the team’s favourite Bentley to work on or under, we had picked a cracker!
But if you could now buy a good example of a car, which was once a firm favourite amongst 00’s football managers, for less than £20k do you still need a premier league salary to run one? The price of the service would immediately give us our answer but it was only fair to the production team for us to run it as a pool car for a few weeks sitting alongside the 170,000 mile Mitsubishi and 1996 Vauxhall Corsa .
We found it surprisingly practical, taking in its stride:
The general consensus of the team was that it was a very lovely car to drive. But you have to have very short legs to be able to sit in the back comfortably, the drinks holders were not made for fast food coffee cups and at around 14.7mpg it just wasn’t worth it to be commuting in it to work.
Although none of the team (they say) tested it, this car is our first purchase which can reach up to 200mph. We’re not too sure how our purchase of a Fiat 126 will go down with them all…
Rest assured we’ve cleaned out any McD’s coffee cups, hoovered up biscuit crumbs and removed our Aldi bags for life from the boot.
PLEASE NOTE: We take great pride in restoring our cars but they are classics, they will not be immaculate and they will no doubt need ongoing maintenance and repair. We suggest you make your own checks first.
