Vendor's comments:

We purchased this 1972 little beauty in 2004, looking a very blue washed
out colour. It took until 2006 to complete the renovation and colour
matched (VW harvest moon) to compliment the Beetle we had ferrying
bridal parties, too and from their wedding venues, a very enjoyable and
lucrative ventue, only retiring it from the wedding transport business
in 2018. We were told the vans history was used as Airport transport
originally. We understand twinsliders are quite rare, and to this day
we have never seen another.

The renovation, mechanical and new engine was carried out by Aircooled
Performance at Brompton on Swale, together with paint/bodywork by
Technique Spray, an exceptional job. The full interior, headliner,
seats (partial leather) and carpets were supplied and fit by a small
outfit called Auto Trimming in Dormanstown near Redcar. Eight seat
belts were added at this time to complete the make over. Wheels were
powder coated to compliment the paint work, together with new tyres
(still the same tyres today).

This twinslider had a brand new 1776 engine (covering only 5,000 miles
since that time), including powder coated tin wear, new twin 40s,
stainless steel exhausts and clutch. Also as many original parts were
lovingly restored and good today.

We have dry stored since renovation maintaining its very good
condition. It is MOTd until April 2024 (and has been done so yearly),
and of course is tax exempt.
