The vendor has provided the following:
Mazda MX5 1990 1.6i 5 speed UK car (not import)
One previous owner from new, purchased by my father as a gift for me in January 1999 with 13k miles on the clock.
Initially used as my daily transport until I got a company car and then became a weekend/summer car. It has not been used as a main vehicle since then but mainly as a fun vehicle.
Taken off the road and stored in a dry garage between 2009 and 2013 when it was refurbished and returned to daily use.
Although not used regularly for the last 12 years it has always been garaged.
Has had rust on the rear wheel arch patched in the early 2000s then full repair as part of refurbishment in 2013 but has started to rust through again.
Car is in original spec apart from coil overs fitted in place of original coils and springs in 2015 and the fitting of a DAB radio.
Hood is original and still watertight but has split in the back window and the zip has torn away from the hood internally making it difficult to unzip the rear window when lowering the roof. The car has a windbreak fitted behind the seats.
The car has a Cobra immobiliser fitted, originally it also had an alarm microwave internal sensor which have been disabled or removed due to false alarm issues.
The car is relatively cheap to maintain and repair as most if not all parts are still available from Mazda as well as pattern parts and a world of upgrades and customisation options.
Only major repairs relate to an accident due to a diesel spillage in May 2001, resulting in the rear subframe being replaced and a respray of the bonnet after a large stone strike which also broke the windscreen in June 2001 (2001 was not a lucky year)
The car took part in the MX5 owners club, MX-5 1K Guiness World Record at Elvington in 2021.
There is a full set of replacement polymer suspension bushes in the boot that I bought but never got around to fitting.
