This is a re-bodied Suzuki Vitara using the NCF Arctic steel body. Suzuki Arctic on the V5. I have owned the Suzuki since August 2008 but the rebuild was undertaken by myself in 2017.
The ‘BUG’ was created in 2017 from a vehicle owned since 2008. It is a rebodied 1995 3dr Suzuki Vitara JLX using the
NCF Arctic steel frame and body.
Registered as a ‘Suzuki Arctic’ with its original registration plate. Mileage 38949 and 12 months MOT commencing 1st
August 2023. Very few of these vehicles are available and this is probably the best available of its type in the UK. It is
designed for serious off-roading with superb breakover, approach and departure angles. However, this vehicles has
never been used for off-roading (after many, many hours building and improving it I don’t want to spoil it!)
Why is it orange and called the ‘BUG’? My late father-in-law was Raymond Wiggin, Managing Director of Reliant.
In addition to commissioning the Scimitar and other reliant vehicles he also commissioned the ‘Bond Bug’ when
Reliant purchased Bond Cars Limited. The vast majority of Bond Bugs were orange in colour. After spending many
hours building this vehicle, which is a type of buggy especially with the doors removed, a decision was made to finish
it in orange and call it the ‘BUG’, in memory.
