The owner has provided the following:

This 1600-2 E10 BMW appears to have been a special build, this is a 1600-2 which ceased production in 1970, but was built 17th March 1971 using an old stock shell, and is fitted with a 2002 Tii twin hydraulic breaking system.

The 1600-2 BMW is the original 2 door coupe, predecessor to the 1602 & 2002 which in turn became the E21 model and the fore-runner of the mighty BMW 3 series.

The car originally;ly left the factory in Orange (Colorado 002) but the second owner was an Army Major who sold it to a fellow soldier in 1980, he exported the car to Cyprus when he was located there, but the re-patriated it in 1983.

His ownership continued until 2012, but around 2000 he has the car fully re-built, including the engine, mechanicals and body using many new parts (at a cost of £7631.22), at this time it also has the subsequent colour change and the era (Deep Brunswick Green (code 227 BS:381C) is an army colour he would have been very familiar with, and subsequently the colour of 'The Flying Scotsman' steam train).

His ownership ceased in 212 when the car changed owners a couple of times until 2013 when it was bought by a local man who cherished the car, until recent years when a family member became ill and the car was left, covered but not driven. It was then bought by the vendor in 2021 and has undergone a recommissioning, and tidy-up to bring it into its present condition. The car is sold, reliable and ready to be driven away.
