The vendor of this 1937 AC Ace Coupe is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:
We’ve been making this programme for a while now and we’ve made our fair share of mistakes. Some would say we never learn…our accountant and plenty of people with the surname Mathewson would agree!
However, we do sometimes hold up our hands and say ‘we’ve bitten off more than we can chew’. This is the perfect example of that. We bought this car (and the 3 Jewsons bags of parts that went with it) in Feb 2024 and after having done a bit more research since, it seems the restoration required to make this car into something we’d be proud of would take a little too long, and cost a little too much for it to be able to make it into the programme (the production schedule just wouldn’t allow it).
So we’re selling it on, in the hope the next bidder is able to restore the car to its former glory.
Parts included in the sale:
2 front seats
Spare sills
Carburettors
Nuts and bolts
Dashboard
Interior trim
Back seats
Diff
Steering column
Gear stick
Engine components / Cams
Bell housing
Steering Rack
This is only a guide. Please carry out your own inspection to ascertain condition of parts.
